The Gulf of Thailand boasts some of the world’s most stunning islands, and reaching them is a breeze with the well-organized ferry service. From Pattaya City, an hour away from Bangkok, you can embark on a short, scenic ferry ride to the enchantingn island of Ko Lan. This is a perfect day trip option with ferries departing every hour and a fare under $3. However, if you’re captivated by the island’s beauty, you can extend your stay by finding accommodation on Ko Lan Island.
Once you arrive on the island, you are greeted by scooter renters. Renting a scooter will be the cheapest and fastest way around the island. Ensure you get a stylish scooter as they are easy to ride, and you may want to take those cute scooter riding pictures. You can circle and see many of this island’s beaches and other hidden gems! Beach hopping is one of my favorite things to do, as you can feel the sand and the water at different times of the day in other locations. When riding around the island, wear plenty of sunblocks, as the sun in Thailand is intense. The first beach I recommend going to is Tien Beach. The water is so clear that you will see the fish swimming around you. At this beach and all the other beaches in Ko Lan, they charge for beach chairs, and there is always a restaurant.
One of the island’s hidden treasures is Klom Klom Kohlarn. This bar, ingeniously designed from items washed up on Ko-Lan, offers a unique experience. Savor a drink, marvel at the bar’s artistic design, and, if you’re fortunate, catch a live musical performance.
